
Fremtidens transportsystemer må bli mer bærekraftige og de offentlige midlene må utnyttes best mulig. Dette kan bli resultatet hvis den riktige kompetansen blir engasjert inn i prosjektene på det tidspunktet da deres bidrag har mest å bety for utfallet, samtidig som både regelverk og andre rammebetingelser hensyntas. Dr. Farshid Rahmani, Senior lecture, RMIT university, Melbourne
Topic: An introduction to ECI concept, benefits and challenges
Dr Farshid Rahmani has a PhD in the Built Environment from RMIT University and is a lecturer in the School of Property, Construction and Project Management at RMIT University. Prior to entering academia, Farshid was a senior civil engineer, project manager and quantity surveyor in the construction industry mostly in the gas, oil and petrochemical projects in the Persian Gulf region and Fit out and Refurbishment projects in the UK. Farshid’s PhD research project ‘Conceptual models for selecting and managing Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) delivery system by clients’ (2016) developed a theoretical methodology for clients to select and manage ECI procurement method for a project. His findings were published in several high-ranked academic journal papers and presented in various peer-reviewed seminars and academic conferences. Farshid specialises in researching and teaching construction procurement methods with a focus on the collaborative delivery systems such as relational contracting (RC), Alliancing, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), Framework Agreement (FA) and Public Private Partnership (PPP).

Dr Paulos Wondimu is awarded a Ph.D. in Project Management from NTNU, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He also earned a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Arba Minch University and M.Sc. in Design and Construction Project Management from Chalmers University of Technology. He then started his career in Statens Vegvesen in 2011 as control engineer on bridge projects. It was followed by R&D in contract types and implementation strategies. His main expertise lies in the areas of project management, early contractor involvement, competitive dialog, best value procurement etc.
